<p>The invention relates to a head having a structure wherein the press-down retaining element (29) exerts pressure on the tile so that the tile can be cut into two parts by a cutting line previously drawn by a cutting blade (21). One of the advantages of said press-down retaining element (29) is that it remains in raised position so as not to interfere with the cutting operation. The head includes other improvements which facilitate and simplify its operation in such a way that the active position of the press-down retaining element (29) is achieved by swinging upward and then downward the handle assembly of the machine to cut the tile into two parts, whereby the press-down retaining element is entrained during said operation. A trigger (35) forming part of a locking device (24) is actuated to place the press-down retaining device (29) in its raised rest position.</p> |
