<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed controller for a hot rolling equipment capable of securing a running joining by controlling so that the position to which the tip of a succeeding material catches up with the tail end of a preceding material becomes constant on the transfer line of the preceding stage of a finish rolling mill. SOLUTION: When controlling speeds of a material winder 8 and a lot of table rolls 4 transferring rolled stocks unwound from this material winder respectively, the tail end position of a preceding material, viewed from a specified position 6 on a transfer line, is detected by a first position detection means 18. On the other hand, when the tip position of a succeeding material is detected by a second position detection means 24, each detection position and the speed correction quantity of the succeeding material, by which the tail end of the preceding material and the tip of the succeeding material are made to coincide each other in a specified position according to the speed standard of the table rolls, are calculated by a speed correction quantity operation means 26. The value attained by adding the speed reference of the table rolls to this speed correction quantity is taken as the speed reference of the material winder.</p> |
