PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire having compatibility between noise performance and wet performance. SOLUTION: Two wide main grooves 21 are arranged on both right and left sides on a tread surface 20 across a tire equatorial line C, the region between two main grooves 21 is taken as a rib 22, two kinds of sub grooves 26, 27 having the different widths extending from the main grooves 21 to the ground contact ends 25 in the tire width direction are alternatively arranged over the periphery of a tire, and sub grooves 28 extending in the tire circumferential direction are arranged between the main grooves 21 and the ground contact ends 25 in the tire width direction. The groove width (a) of the main groove 21, the distance (b) from the equatorial line C to the groove center of the main groove 21, the tread surface ground contact half width W, the groove width cw of one sub groove 26, the groove depth cd, the groove width dw of the other sub groove 27, the groove depth dd, and the groove depth ed of the sub main groove 28 are so set as to satisfy the following relationship: 0.14<(a)/W<0.2, 0.3<b/W<0.4, dw>=2cw, dw<=1.5mm, ed>ed(dd). |
