A core-sheath composite electrically conductive fiber having a sheath component of a fiber-forming polymer containing conductive carbon black, characterized in that, with respect to the inscribed circles of the core and sheath components, the radius of the inscribed circle (R) of the sheath component and the distance (r) between the centers of the above two circles satisfy a specific relationship; a core-sheath composite electrically conductive fiber, characterized in that the core component comprises a polyester having ethylene terephthalate units as a main constituting unit and the sheath component comprises a mixture of carbon black and a copolyester wherein ethylene terephthalate accounts for 10 to 90 mole % of the constituent units thereof. The conductive fiber can be suitably used, alone or in combination with another fiber, in a variety of applications, for example, for special working wears such as dust-proof clothes and interior goods such as a carpet.
