PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line segment plotting device for using less buffers, efficiently performing transfer to a frame memory and accelerating a plotting processing speed. SOLUTION: When pixels constituting a line segment are generated in a line segment plotting part 5, a holding part control part 11 judges whether or not the plotting coordinate of the generated pixels can be within an already set holding part among the four holding parts in a data holding part 12. When it can be held in one of the holding parts, the pixel is plotted in the holding part. When it can not be in any set folding part, a free holding part is selected and the coordinate on the frame memory 7 corresponding to the holding part is computed and set in a holding part coordinate computing part 13. Then, the pixel is plotted in the holding part. The holding part for which plotting is ended is transferred by a word unit to a corresponding position on the frame memory 7 by a data transfer part 14. At the time, when the holding part is area-set along the word boundary of the frame memory 7, high-speed transfer is possible. |
