An enhanced portfolio includes a body with a front cover, a back cover, and a spine. The portfolio also includes a base with a plurality of fasteners and a plurality of accessories each with one or more fasteners. The base is disposed on the body, for example, on an exterior surface of the front cover. The fasteners of the base are complementary to the fastener s of the accessories so that the fasteners are releasably engageable with each other. The accessories may be attached to first location on the base, detached from the base, and reattached to another location on the base as desired, thereby allowing customization. The accessories may be configured to satisfy a variety of functions and needs. The portfolio may have two or more bases, wi th one base disposed on an exterior surface of a cover and another base disposed on an interior surface of the cover. The plurality of fasteners on the base may be arranged in a matrix-li ke manner, preferably with uniform spacing therebetween each fastener, thereby allowing multiple accessories to be attached to a single base.
