PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive portable ashtray case convenient to carry without causing any environmental pollution. SOLUTION: This portable ashtray case, composed of an elastically openable refractory outer lid and an ashtray body, has such a scheme that the inner chamber of the case body is mounted with a cigarette butt extinguisher of high extinguishing ability detachably sucked by the aid of a magnetic substance and also covered with a refractory inner lid, the cigarette butt extinguisher being projected out of part of the inner lid so as to enable the cigarette butts therein to be extinguished without the need of opening the inner lid; furthermore, the other part of the inner lid is provided with an aperture through which extinguished cigarette butts are contained and, after containing such extinguished cigarette butts through the aperture, this ashtray case is carried; besides, opening/closing operation of this ashtray case can easily be done one-handed by the aid of a male-female elastic engagement means furnished inside the sidewall of this ashtray case.
