PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting the sensitivity to a medicine for the osteoporosis by determining genotypes of a vitamin D receptor gene and an apolipoprotein E gene from genomic DNA in a sample in a sample collected from a human, followed by analyzing a combination of the genotypes. SOLUTION: This method comprises the steps of determining if each of genotypes a vitamin D receptor gene and an apolipoprotein E gene from genomic DNA contained in a specimen collected form a human is a combination of gene polymorphism [B(-)4(-)], [B(-)4(+)], [B(+)4(-)], [B(+)4(+)], wherein 'B' is a vitamin D receptor gene which is not cleaved by BsmI in an intron region between the eighth exon and the ninth exon, and '4' is an E4 apolipoprotein E allele, and determining if the sample is derived from a human exhibiting specific dominance in the sensitivity to medicines for the osteoporosis based on the combination. |
