A combined venous and cardiotomy blood reservoir (10) is provided that includes a rigid shell (12) having a top (14), a bottom (16), and a continuo us side wall (18). The top and bottom walls (14, 16) are connected to the continuous side walls (18) so as to define a reservoir (10) for venous and cardiotomy blood. A double column structure (20, 24) is provided within the blood reservoir (10), the first column (20) for receiving the degassing veno us blood and the second column (24) for receiving, filtering and defoaming cardiotomy blood. |
