The connector or cover consists of a hollow body in the form of a sleeve (1) which goes over the joint between adjacent ends of bar sections (2,2'). The sleeve has a slot and aperture in its underside to accommodate a bar supporting bracket (7), and has holes (5') for fixing screws.
