PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst, a method and a device for treating exhaust gases discharged from various incineration furnaces such as city refuse incineration furnaces, industrial waste incineration furnaces or sludge incineration furnaces. SOLUTION: This catalyst is constituted of a carrier composed of titanium oxide and a catalyst component comprised of the oxide of vanadium or tungsten, which catalyst component is supported with the carrier. The device for treating an exhaust gas by using this catalyst is constituted of a dust cleaner 12 for removing particles of soot contained in the exhaust gas 11 discharged from an incineration furnace and a catalyst unit 13 for removing harmful substances such as nitrogen oxides, dioxins or highly condensed aromatic hydrocarbons. |
