PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain hot melt composition possessing an aptitude for a sealing material at a high temperature, controlled in fragility at a low temperature and flowability at a high temperature, excellent in flexibility, having both adhesion to and easy removability from an adherend and therefore suitable as a cushioning material, a damping material and an industrial sealing material. SOLUTION: There is provided a hot melt composition (a) comprising 100 pts.wt. of a styrenic thermoplastic elastomer having an intrinsic viscosity [η]of 0.8-1.6 dl/g, and incorporated therewith, 5-1,000 pts.wt. of a polyphenylene ether and 200-3,000 pts.wt. of a liquid softening agent selected among process oils, liquid rubbers and modified products thereof, which composition (a) has a softening point of 130-240 deg.C measured by the ring and ball softening point method, (b) is not cracked under a load of compression strain of at least 75% in an atmosphere of -30 to +40 deg.C and (c) does not flow when left to stand under no load in an atmosphere of 110 deg.C for 24 hr.
