The invention relates to a wireless communication device (1) comprising at least:a basic unit (2) with at least one keypad or keyboard (6) for using the wireless communication device (1) and controller for locking the keypad (6) of the basic unit, whereby when the keypad (6) of the basic unit is locked, its operation in connection with the wireless communication device (1) is at least partly prevented,an auxiliary unit (3) with at least one keypad or keyboard (15), andlink module (11, 17, 58) for connecting the auxiliary unit (3) in a functional connection with the basic unit (2). The wireless communication device (1) comprises further link module and controller (11, 16) for locking the keypad (15) of at least one auxiliary unit arranged in a functional connection with the basic unit (2) simultaneously with locking the keypad (6) of the basic unit, wherein when the keypad (15) of the auxiliary unit is locked, its operation is at least partly prevented. The invention relates also to a method for implementing a keyguard in a wireless communication device (1).
