PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method of a coating liquid which is suitable for high performance organic-inorganic hybridization and has a long pot life and excellent stability and a preparation method of a photofunctional cured film using the same which is stable for a long period of time on an industrial scale and has excellent photoelectric properties and mechanical strength. SOLUTION: A preparation method of a photofunctional coating liquid comprises contacting a solution containing one or more photofunctional organic silicon compounds of the formula with a solid catalyst to react the same and separating the solid catalyst. A preparation method of a photofunctional cured film comprises coating the photofunctional coating liquid thus obtained and curing. Formula: F-[D-A]b (wherein F is an organic group derived from a photofunctional compound; D is a flexible subunit; A is a substituted silicon group having hydrolyzable groups represented by -Si(R1)(3-a)Qa (wherein R1 is a hydrogen, an alkyl group or the like; Q is a hydrolyzable group; and a is an integer of 1-3) ; and b is an integer of 1-4).
