PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melt spinning method by which good effects on suppressing of foreign materials at a spinneret are exhibited for a long period without being subjected to any restriction on the kind, spinning conditions, grade, etc., of a polymer. SOLUTION: At least one place of vent parts is kept under reduced pressure below the atmospheric pressure while adding water and/or a liquid organic compound having a boiling point within the range of 50-240 deg.C and substantially without containing particles to a polyester passing through an extruder and the water and/or the liquid organic compound are removed from the interior of the system in the melt spinning of the polyester polymer by using the extruder with the vents. Melt spinning is then carried out.
