PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently accommodate much garbage and the like with no labor by providing a box body having an accommodation part of garbage and the like at the inside with an opened upper surface and a wall mechanism having an urging wall constituting a portion of side wall of the box body and provided so as to fall down and stand against the inside of the box body. SOLUTION: This compression device 10 for garbage and the like is provided with a box body 16 having an accommodation part 14 of garbage and the like at the inside with an opened upper surface and a wall mechanism 28 having an urging wall 26 constituting a portion of the side wall 18 and provided so as to fall down and stand against the inside of the box body 16. The box body 16 is formed to a longitudinal rectangular parallelopiped provided with first and second side walls 18a, 18b opposed each other, third and fourth side walls 18c, 18d and a bottom plate 34. The wall mechanism 28 includes a notch 32 provided on a side wall 18, a slider wall 40 abutted to the notch 32 and vertically movably provided, and an urging wall 26 provided so as to fall down and stand against the inside of the box body 16 while supported by the slider wall 40.
