PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engagement device with a powerful stopper function to be easily handled, capable of engaging a clothes-drying stand firmly when the clothes-drying stand is moved to a prescribed position in a drying space by tightening a hook bolt of a toggle clamp screwed to a connecting crossbar of he clothes-drying stand to an engagement rod fixed under the floor surface. SOLUTION: This engagement device with a stopper function utilizes a strong tightening force of a toggle clamp 4. an engagement rod 5 is laid in a hole 6 bored at a prescribed position and fixed under the ground. As a hook bolt 47, which is rotatably supported in a clothes-drying stand side, is erected to the upper position 47a when the stand is moved, the lower end of the hook bolt 47 doesn't creep on the ground surface. A pin 43 as a stopper to prevent the tightened hook bolt 47 from being loosened is inserted in order to prevent the hook bolt 47 from being loosened accidentally because of transverse vibrations caused by strong wind, etc., when the clothes-drying stand is engaged.
