PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling having a torque limiter function which keeps a cutoff torque value constant and interrupts a torque transfer surely when transferred torque abnormally increases to reach the cutoff torque value. SOLUTION: This coupling has a hub 11 (first rotating member) mounted on a rotating shaft 2, a pulley 12 (second rotating member) positioned in a concentrically and circumferentially relatively displaceable manner on the perimeter of the hub 11, and dampers 13 elastically connecting the hub 11 to the pulley 12. A cutter 124 positioned between the dampers 13, 13 is fixed to the pulley 12. This cutter 124 cuts into a back face 13a of a damper 13 when abnormal torque is imposed and a relative twist angle between the pulley 12 and the hub 11 reaches δ2. The dampers 13 which is formed with an elastomer is under shear deformation by increasing of the twit angle so as to be broken in one stroke by a stress concentration on a part which is cut into by the cutter 124. Torque transfer from the pulley 12 to the hub 11 is thereby interrupted. |
