PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyurethane resin having decomposing property, namely hydrolyzable property and biodegradability by reacting a specific polyol with diisocyanatomethylbicycloheptane. SOLUTION: This polyurethane resin is obtained by reacting, e.g. (A) a polyol comprising a mixture or copolycondensation polymer selected from (i) polyhydroxycarboxylic acid polyol of formula I (R1 is a 1-4C alkylene; m>=1), (ii) a fatty acid polyesterpolyol and (iii) saccarides or (iv) a polyol which may be branched by condensing a component (i) and/or (ii) with a tri- or more valent aliphatic polyvalent alcohol with (B) 2,5/2,6- diisocyanatomethylbicyclo[2.2.1]heptane of formula II and/or its modifier. It is preferable that the component B is 0.001-40 wt.% based on the component A in the above resin.
