PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable single-handed drawing and storing operations of inner boxes, and to prevent dislodgment of positioning pins from pin engaging holes even if handles are gripped wrongly. SOLUTION: The outrigger operating device, which is for an outrigger so constructed that an inner box 2 is inserted in an outer box 1 and that a vertical outrigger box 3 is mounted at the outer end of the inner box 2, has a positioning pin 5 arranged in the inner box 2, pin engaging holes 4 cut in the outer box 1 to receive the positioning pin 5 seated therein, a pull 8 with which the inner box 2 is drawn out and stored in position, and a handle 7 with which the positioning pin 5 is engaged and disengaged with and from one of the pin engaging holes 4 via a push-pull cable 6, both which pull and handle are disposed on the vertical outrigger box 3 for a single-handed operation. The pull 8 is provided with a lock pin 20 that locks the handle 7 continuously in its pin engaging position and is unlockable with the hand gripping the pull 8.
