PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the wear resistance and seizure resistance of a coppery sliding material withoiut using Pb as far as possible. SOLUTION: In the coppery sliding material, 1-20 wt.% Bi and 0.1-10 vol.% hard particles of 1-45μm average particle size are contained in a Cu-Sn alloy containing 0.5-15 wt.% Sn. Since the hard particles exist as a mixture in the Bi phase, seizure resistance as well as wear resistance can be improved. Moreover, the soft Bi phase acts as a cushion, and hereby attacks on mating materials can be moderated. Further, the effusion of Bi can be minimized because the Bi phase is mixed with the hard particles. |
