PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a molded article, reinforced with fibers whose length is kept at a level at lest equivalent to the critical reinforcement length, high in, e.g. bending strength, impact strength and rigidity, free of uneven coloring, uniformly colored, and excellent in outer appearances by using thermoplastic resin pellets reinforced with long fibers, e.g. of glass. SOLUTION: This molding material of thermoplastic resin is a mixture of 100 pts.wt. of thermoplastic resin pellets having a total length of 3 to 50 mm and containing 10 to 90 wt.% of fibers, having a length equivalent to the pellet's total length and arranged parallel to each other, and 5 to 40 pts.wt. of a colorant master batch. It is preferable that an antistatic agent is further incorporated at 0.001 to 3 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the pellet by dry blending.
