SOLUTION: In a chipper equipped with a base 12 supported by legs 10, a hopper 14 placed on the base 12 and receiving an object 44 to be chipped to chip the same and a chute 16 formed to the hopper 14 to discharge chips 46, a charging port 52 of the on object 44 to be chipped is formed above the hopper 14 in such a form that the chute 16 and the legs 10 are protruded to cover the whole with a soundproof wall 50.
