PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To a save memory for accumulating image data, to shorten a printing wait time and to also restore compressed image data. SOLUTION: Image data is received from a host machinery at every image band to be printed. That is, a printer 10A and the host machinery 300 have bidirectional communication function and only the image data of a part necessary for the printing of an image band is divided to be received by the host machinery and converted to printing data to be printed. By further providing a compressed image data restoring means, only a part of compressed image data is received from the host machinery and restored to be printed at every image band.
