PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a valve element from being brought into no-movement when a discharge pressure is high and to prevent it from occurring that the valve element is hardly moved due to a foreign matter, such as refuse. SOLUTION: A control valve 100 comprises a ball-form valve element 126 to open and close a passage to effect intercommunication between the discharge chamber and the crank chamber of this variable displacement compressor, a holder 120 to have a valve chamber 123 to contain the valve element 126; a spiral spring 128 to energize the valve element 126 in a closing direction; a plunger 133 to drive the valve element 126; a solenoid 131A to suck the plunger 133 in a closing direction; a spiral spring 144 to energize the plunger 133 in an opening direction; and a pressure space 116 on the plunger side formed on the side, opposite to the valve element, of the plunger 133. In this case, the valve chamber 123 and the pressure space 116 on the plunger side are caused to effect intercommunication between a pressure balance hole 115 and a gap 180. |
