PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform efficient operation control of a double deck elevator, if either upper of lower cage is unusable. SOLUTION: A double deck elevator 10 having passenger cages 11, 12 vertically connected to each other offers a service floor so that, if one passenger cage is detected to be unusable by a cage failure detection part 21, the other passenger cage having no failure is serviceable independently of the operating conditions of the double deck elevator. In this way, if the upper or lower cage of the double deck elevator is in failure, efficient operation is performed by auxiliary operation and a waiting time of users is shortened. |
