PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock device capable of obtaing high lock reliability to improve crime prevention in simple and low price construction without requiring a separate assistant lock. SOLUTION: This lock device 1 is provided with a dead bolt 35 advancing and retreating from the front plate 11 of a lock box 9 by a cylinder lock or a thumb-turn rotationally operated, a strike provided on a door frame opposite to the front plate 11 and having a receiving hole into which the dead bolt 35 enters, and a rod 7 which is internally provided in a door so that the lengthwise direction is the vertical direction of the door and by the cylinder lock or the thumb-turn rotationally operated, the extreme end is advanced and retreated from the upper end face or the lower emd face of the door. In the lock box 9, a sickle dead 47 projecting the hook-like extreme end part following to the advancing/retreating of the dead bolt 35 is provided. Further, the rod 7 is formed so that the main body 56 and the base part 53 are separated from each other, and they are connected together by an engaging means regulating separation in the axial direction by a fixed relative rotation angle around the axis.
