PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition useful as a resin additive such as a plasticizer or a softening agent by mixing a lactone resin with a diphenol derivative and/or a dihydroxybenzene. SOLUTION: The diphenol derivative is a compound of the formula (wherein X is a single bond, S, O, or a 1-12C alkylene). It is desirable that the content of the diphenol derivative and/or the dihydroxybenzene is 5-70 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt., in total, of these compounds and the lactone resin. It is desirable that the lactone resin is poly-ε-caprolactone. It is desirable that the diphenol derivative is 4,4'-thiodiphenol. It is desirable that the dihydroxybenzene is 1,4- dihydroxybenzene. The resin composition does not undergo bleed-out during molding, because the lactone resin and the diphenol resin are firmly bonded to each other in virtue of the reticular structure resulting from the hydrogen bonding between the CO group of the lactone resin and the two OH groups of the diphenol.
