PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the rotation loss of a rotor caused by a magnetic bearing keeping stability of the rotor as much as possible. SOLUTION: This magnetic bearing is used to support translation 3 degree of freedom (X, Y, Z) and rotation 2 degree of freedom (θx,θy) of a vertical axis rotating element 1 in which a direction of vertical axis in kinetic coordinate system X, Y, Z of the vertical axis rotating element 1 is coincided with Z axis. In this case, the control of the magnetic bearing supporting the translation degree of freedom (Z) is kept in complete state and the axial vibration in Z direction is kept in negligible state. A force to prevent the rotation to the rotation degree of freedomθz of the vertical axis rotating element 1 to be caused by a magnetic bearing 4 supporting those other than translation degree of freedom (Z) is made to be minimum.
