PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always make a coincidence of printing direction against a paper by stopping a rotation of a resist roller mechanism until the paper arrives at a timing set position and rotating the resist roller mechanism after a timing set time is passed if the paper arrives at the timing set position. SOLUTION: A timing set time is set to a time that a front end edge Pe of a paper P is abutted to a resist roller 5 and a predetermined flexure Pw is generated on the paper P. A rotation of a resist roller mechanism 5 is stopped until the paper P arrives at a timing set position. A flexure-permitting space Rw is provided by a guide plate 26 provided between a pre-resist roller mechanism 4 and the resist roller mechanism 5 so as to enlarge a gap of a conveying passage R. A front end of the paper P is detected by a sensor disposed between the pre-resist roller mechanism 4 and the resist roller mechanism 5 and disposed near the resist roller mechanism 5. It is detected that the front end of the paper P arrives at the timing set position.
