PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove boron by allowing boron-containing water to contact with ion exchange resin to adsorb boron then eluting the boron, adding a silicon compound to the recovered boron-containing solution, and then neutralizing it with a calcium compound. SOLUTION: The waste water generating at production processes of a glass industry, etc., incorporates a boron compound, and in order to efficiently remove boron from the boron-containing water, the boron-containing water is passed through the ion exchange resin layer to be brought into contact with it to adsorb the boron. Subsequently, a mineral acid solution is passed through the ion exchange resin layer to elute boron in the mineral acid solution, and the obtained mineral acid solution containing a high concentration of boron is added with the silicon compound. Next, by adding the calcium compound, its pH is adjusted to >=8, then a compound containing boron is precipitated and removed. Alkali metal silicates such as sodium silicate and potassium silicate can be used as the silicon compound.
