metallurgy of rare refractory metals, particularly, vanadium metallurgy; applicable in production of vanadium with purity required for production of high-purity vanadium-base alloys. SUBSTANCE: method includes aluminothermic reduction of vanadium-containing raw material, smelting of reduced vanadium in electron beam furnaces, electrolytic refining of ingots after smelting in melt of chlorides with use of said ingots in capacity of soluble anode. Electrolytic refining is carried out at constant rate and specific productivity of 0.5-0.6 kg of cathode metal per hour. In addition, smelting is effected by double electron beam remelting at rate of 8-10 kg/h and vacuum of 1.10-4 mm Hg.
