PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a maintaining and managing method for a plant capable of easily and artificially growing a plant in a coexisting area of human and plant liable to cause deficiency of light for the plant by irradiating exclusively the plant with a specific artificial light. SOLUTION: A plant 3 is maintained and managed in a coexisting area of human and plant where the light quantity necessary for the growth of the plant 3 cannot be secured only with natural light by irradiating exclusively the plant 3 with artificial light having adjustable light quantity. The light quantity can be adjusted by using a mobile light source 5 for the artificial light and approaching the light source 5 to the plant 3 or separating from the plant. A sodium lamp may be used as the light source 5 for the artificial light.
