PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel enabling high-accuracy fishline length measurement through positively removing water adhered to the dispatching/receiving face, or the vicinity thereof, of an ultrasonic sensor constituting a fishline length measuring instrument. SOLUTION: This fishing reel is such as to be equipped with a fishline length measuring instrument having such a mechanism that a reeled fishline diameter data is determined based on the time elapsed from the emission of ultrasonic wave from an ultrasonic sensor mounted on the reel body 33 against the fishline- reeled surface of a spool 41 to a point when the sensor receives the receiving wave, and a fishline length is measured and displayed based on the above data and spool revolutions determined by a relevant detective means; wherein the ultrasonic sensor-mounted part is furnished with a guide for guiding water adhered to the dispatching/receiving face of the sensor so as to flow out of the face.
