PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically and rationally treat fallen of a forest. SOLUTION: A crusher A for crushing plant waste into chips or a chip hopper 6 storing chip-like crushed formed by preliminarily chipping plant waste, a screw type crusher B for grinding down the chip-like crushed matter while pressing the same and a transfer device C transferring the chip-like crushed matter from the crusher A or chip hopper to the screw type crusher B are mounted on a selftraveling truck D having an endless track provided thereto. The screw type crusher B is equipped with the screw provided in a casing 1 and grinding down the chip-like crushed matter while pressing the same to feed the same to the leading end the casing 1 under pressure, the hopper 6 receiving the chip-like crushed matter from the transfer device C to charge the same in the casing 1 and a top cover 4 attached to the leading end of the casing and having a discharge port for discharging the crushed matter of plant waste fed under pressure by the screw.
