PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a spinning centrifugal machine in a proper state, especially in an empty state when starting a spinning cycle. SOLUTION: Individual spinning centrifugal machines 14 of a centrifugal spinning machine are inspected for the presence of yarn body residues 30 when a spinning cycle of the centrifugal spinning machine having the many same operating sites is started. The respective rotational frequencies of yarn legs 20 in the individual operating sites of the centrifugal spinning machine are detected and the measured rotational frequencies are respectively compared with a target value. The occasionally present yarn residues 30 in the one or more operating sites of the spinning centrifugal machines 14 are directly recognized by the production of a difference in the rotational frequencies for the target value. When measuring the rotational frequencies of the yarn legs 20, spinning is carried out on the occasionally still present yarn body residues 30 and a state in which a reduction in free radius caused thereby results in a reduction in the rotational frequencies of the yarn legs 20 is utilized.
