PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushion device for cylinder capable of preventing the dust included in the working fluid of an operation chamber from blocking a throttle hole for limiting the flow rate of the working fluid to cause a cushion operation failure. SOLUTION: A piston rod 6 is provided in such a manner as to be capable of reciprocating in a cylinder tube 1, an operation chamber 9 is formed between a covering member 2 for covering the end of the cylinder tube 1 and a piston 5, and a working fluid supplying passage 13 allowing the port 11 of the covering member 2 to communicate with the operation chamber 9 to supply a working fluid is formed in the axial direction of the piston rod 6. In order to absorb the shock of the piston rod 6, a throttle passage having a throttle port 18 for limiting the flow rate of the working fluid of the operation chamber 9 and discharging it to a port 11 is provided between the operation chamber 9 and the port 11. The throttle passage has an opening part 17 in the position opposite to the operation chamber 9, and the opening part 17 is formed so as to have a clearanceαsmaller than the diameterβof the throttle hole 18 and a longitudinal lengthγlonger than the diameterβof the throttle hole 18.
