摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To spread an operable range as improvement of suction filling efficiency and fuel consumption is achieved, in a compression self-ignition gasoline internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: A valve timing being minus overlap at which the closing timing of an exhaust valve is the middle of an exhaust stroke and the opening timing of a suction valve is the middle of a suction stroke and an exhaust valve and a suction valve are both closed is provided. During a time (a setting range S1 of a fuel injection timing) starting from an exhaust valve closing timing during a minus overlap period and ending to an exhaust top dead center, first fuel injection by a fuel injection valve is effected in a small injection amount T1, and during a suction stroke right after a suction valve opening timing (a setting range S2 of a fuel injection timing), second fuel injection by a fuel injection valve is effected as a remaining injection amount T2.
