PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the manual copy of the printing medium different from the printing medium set by an operation panel. SOLUTION: This control method is provided with a sensor 14 for detecting the printing medium loaded on a manual tray 12 and an operation panel 16 for setting attribute of the printing medium, and a manual printing job, in which the attribute of the printing medium is set, is input from a computer 30 so as to discriminate whether or not the attribute of the printing medium set by the manual printing job and the attribute of the printing medium set by the operation panel 16 coincide with each other. In the case of YES, a control unit 18 inhibits change of the attribute of the printing medium by the operation panel 16 during the time when the sensor 14 continuously detects the printing medium.
