PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily press-fit a bump stopper cap into a damper tube and support a suspension spring by a spring seat threadedly engaged to the bump stopper cap. SOLUTION: In this screw driven type vehicle height adjusting device of a hydraulic shock absorber 10, a small diameter press-fit part 71 press fitted and fixed to a small outer diameter part of a damper tube 11 is provided at a base end of a bump stopper cap 40, and a large diameter press-fit part 73 press fitted and fixed to a large outer diameter part of the damper tube 11 is provided at the tip of the cap 40. A threaded collar 42 is fixed to an outer periphery of the bump stopper cap 40, and a spring seat 14 is threadedly engaged to an outer periphery of the threaded collar 42.
