PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a plate making time and plate materials and to do printing efficiently. SOLUTION: Page description data in which raw materials 61 which are printing contents are associated with each other are divided into a fixed part 62 which is printing contents common to a plurality of kinds of printed matter and variable parts 63a, 63b which are printing contents peculiar to each kind of the printed matter and are administrated. When plate making raster data are produced from the page description data, the raster data of each color component are produced from the fixed part 62 and the variable parts 63a, 63b. In plate making printing, with the use of the raster data 67k of a K plate obtained by synthesizing raster data 64y, 64m, 64c concerning three plates Y, M, C obtained from the fixed part 62 and the raster data of the fixed part and the first variable part 63a, the first plate making printing is done. Thereafter, every time when the variable part is changed, printing is continued with only the K plate made/replaced by using the raster data 67k of the K plate obtained by synthesizing the fixed part and the variable parts.
