PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial blower with wide applicable range by defining the peripheral cross-sectional shape and radial cross-sectional shape of a vane with mathematical expressions. SOLUTION: A vane 20 is formed in a three dimensional shape where a vane leading edge 22 side is forwardly tilted largely to the suction side of air while a vane face is twisted spatially. The shape of the vane 20 is defined using two cross-sectional shapes, a peripheral cross-sectional shape and a radial cross-sectional shape, in a coordinate system having, as a rotating center 19A, an original point O of a propeller fan 16. Specifically, an emphasis is put on the peripheral cross-sectional shape important to determine the blowing capacity of the propeller fan 16 so as to define the peripheral cross-sectional shape at any radius (r) from the original point using a mathematical expression. The radial cross-sectional shape is defined by adding a difference (r-R) between the maximum radius R and any radius (r) of the vane 20 in the peripheral cross-sectional shape in order to vary the radial cross-sectional shape with the peripheral cross-sectional shape maintained.
