PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing metallic foil with high productivity only by improving narrowly the device which has been used heretofore and to provide an electrolytic metallic foil producing device suitably usable for the production of the electrolytic metallic foil. SOLUTION: In the method for producing electrolytic metallic foil in which, an electrolytic solution is fed to a gap 6 surrounded by the cathode drum and the anode of an electrolytic metallic foil producing device composed of a rotating cathode drum 1 and an anode which corresponds to the same and whose cross section has a circular-arc shape, and the d.c. current is made to flow between the cathode drum and the anode to precipitate metallic foil 4 into the surface of the cathode drum, as the anode whose cross section has a circular-arc shape, the one in which the size of the circular-arc is larger than 1/2 of the circumference is used. In an electrolytic metallic foil producing device composed of a rotating drum and an anode which corresponds to the same and whose cross section has a circular-arc shape, the anode whose cross section has a circular-arc shape is composed of a lower anode 2 whose cross section has a semicircular-arc shape and two upper anodes 10 close to the lower anode via a packing member along both ends of the semicircular-arc and having a cross sectional minor-arc shape, and the upper anodes 10 having a cross sectional minor-arc shape are capable of opening and closing in such a manner that the cathode drum is freely attachable and detachable.
