PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair cosmetic capable of giving the hair excellent wiriness, dampishness and its sustainability and having appearance of smoothness and lustrousness by formulating an organic or inorganic acid, a specific tertiary amine and quaternary ammonium salt(s). SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic is obtained by formulating (A) pref. 0.03-3.0 wt.% of an organic acid (e.g. lactic acid) or inorganic acid (e.g. phosphoric acid), (B) pref. 0.05-20 wt.% of a tertiary amine of the formula (R1 and R2 are each an 8-22C alkyl or methyl, however being not methyl at the same time) (e.g. dimethyldecylamine) and (C) pref. 0.05-40 wt.% of at least one quaternary ammonium salt (e.g. cetyltrimethylammonium chloride), and pref. furthermore (D) pref. 3.0-50 wt.% of an oily ingredient (e.g. wax).
