摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator structure capable of well coping with deformation in a big earthquake. SOLUTION: A guide rail 8 consisting of an upper member 10 and a lower member 9 is placed in a hoistway formed from the lower layer part of an intermediate base-isolated building to the interior of a high layer part through the interior of a base-isolated layer. The upper member 10 at its lower end 10b is connected through a connecting part 11 located in the base-isolated layer to the lower member 9 at its upper end 9b. The connecting part 11 is constituted to separate the upper member 10 from the lower member 9 when relative displacement between the lower part and the upper layer part exceeds the given value. Predetermined regions above and below the connecting part 11 in the guide rail 8 are supported from the intermediate base-isolated building side through a supporting device 12 allowing relative displacement between the guide rail 8 and the intermediate base-isolated building when a load exceeding the given load is acted.
