PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To upgrade operating efficiency during maintenance/inspection by preventing an old printing plate from making its exit from a rotary press by the back face of a new printing plate retained with the help of a printing plate retainer and a printing plate receiver in 'open' position. SOLUTION: When a printing plate receiving button is actuated to be set in an 'ON' position, a printing plate receiving actuator 78 is actuated to advance a rod. Consequently, a printing plate receiver 75 is opened to disengage the printing plate tail of a new printing plate P2 with a pivotal support member. Thus the new printing plate P2 has the chucking side retained by a printing plate retainer 41 and hangs down by the tare of the printing plate tail to be pivotally supported by the tip of the printing plate receiver 75. In this case, the back face of the new printing plate P2 covers a discharging path for the old printing plate P1 to be discharged from a discharging aperture 62 for a printing plate to be discharged. The old printing plate P1 which is through a guide member 63 is prevented from making its exit from the rotary press by the back face of the new printing plate P2 and the printing plate tail is guided onto the printing plate receiver 75. Then the chucking of the printing plate tail of the old printing plate P1 is released and the printing plat tail of the old printing plate P1 is disengaged with a plate cylinder 20 by reversing the rotation of the plate cylinder 20. Finally the old printing plate P1 is guided by a printing plate discharging cover 55 and discharged from the old printing plate discharging aperture 62 to the outside of the rotary press. |
