PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printing method for improving the fixing property of an ink jet image so that the image may not be stained or flow away on the occasion when it is exposed to water for a short time. SOLUTION: An ink jet recording element comprising a substrate bearing an image recording layer containing the mixture of a hydrophilic polymer and a polyolefin polymer or wax is prepared for an ink jet printing method for improving the dye density and fixing property of an ink jet image. A droplet of liquid ink containing water, a wetting agent and water-soluble and cationic or basic dye is applied in the shape of the image onto the image recording layer. |
