PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a wrinkle at a stencil base sheet when attached to a plate cylinder. SOLUTION: In the stencil printer comprising a base sheet feeding rollers 14, 15 provided to guide a stencil base sheet 10 between an engraving part P made of a thermal head 12 and a platen roller 13 and a plate cylinder 16, a clamping unit 18 provided at the cylinder 16 to clamp a leading end of the sheet 10, thereby clamping the end of the sheet 10 guided by the rollers 14, 15 and conveyed by the unit 18 to wind and attach the clamped sheet 10 by a rotation of the cylinder 16, the roller 15 disposed at a lowermost downstream of the stencil base sheet between the part P and the cylinder 16 and disposed at a side for receiving a tension of the sheet 10 when attached has a straight constitution having an outer periphery 15a brought into contact with the overall width of the sheet 10.
