PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus related to contamination purifying measure and contamination investigation to be executed in the case where water in a stratum, that is, soil water ground water and pore water are contaminated by harmful contaminant. SOLUTION: This water, sampling device in stratum is formed of a sampling part 6 inserted in the stratum to take in water existing in the stratum, a pressure reducing suction means 1 or vibrating means for reducing the pressure of the sampling part 6 to promote inflow of water existing in the stratum, a valve 8 for sealing or intercepting the sampling part 6 when the inside of the sampling part 6 is filled with water, a pressure regulator 10 connected to the sampling part to control the pressure in the sampling part, and a recovering means 13 for introducing pressurized air into the sampling part to recover the stratum water taken in the sampling part.
