PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve controllability of a fuel pressure by correcting unevenness due to a machine error in metering characteristics of a suction metering valve and a change of temperature characteristics and reducing unevenness in an actual suction amount based on a command suction amount. SOLUTION: The fuel pressure of a common rail 1 on which high pressure fuel injected against the cylinder of an internal combustion engine is accumulated is detected by a fuel pressure sensor S, and based on the fuel pressure, a suction metering valve is driven by an ECU 3 to control a suction amount to a pressure chamber. The ECU 3 is driven by a current at which zero of a suction amount is ensured, and a suction starting current calculating means is provided to calculate a suction starting current value, at which a suction metering valve starts to actually suck a suction metering valve from a change amount of a common rail pressure when a drive current is gradually increased or decreased from this state. By correcting metering characteristics from this suction starting current value, unevenness in a suction amount due to the machine error of the suction metering valve is decreased and controllability is improved.
